Wellness Promotion Department

The Wellness Promotion Department of the Student Health Center is committed to providing current information on health promotion and disease prevention issues in a fun, interactive learning environment.  Certified health educators and substance abuse staff are available to speak to UNC Charlotte students and groups.  Please call at least two weeks in advance to schedule a group presentation.  If you do not see a specific program or topic that you are looking for, we will be happy to tailor a program to fit your needs!  Call 704-687-4622 to schedule.

Alcohol and Drug Issues 
Pay the Piper
Played in game show format, this fun, interactive activity provides
accurate information related to alcohol and other drug use and
corrects misperceptions related to use.
    
Mocktails

Alcohol-free libations.  A great compliment to other campus 
programs, or can be "served" alone.
    
The Wall

Students are asked to write on a "brick" ways that alcohol has
negatively affected their lives and to post it on "the wall" for other

Substance Use Information and Services 
Confidential Assessments
Designed to help you examine your attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and other drugs and to assess how and why you use 
     substances.

Counseling
Do you or someone close to you have a drinking problem?  It could be helpful to talk with someone experienced in helping students examine their alcohol and/or drug use.

(for students found in violation of drug/alcohol policies on campus)

Men's and Women's Health Issues 

 Women's Health
A medical provider will explain the Pap test procedure, including breast and pelvic exams, describe contraception options, and discuss STI prevention and detection.

Men's Health
Special program on issues of particular relevance to men can be
